I enjoy educating students on good health habits and encouraging them to make healthy choices. My goal is to keep our Crestview Cougars healthy and happy!

Parents,

Winter is coming- and so are winter colds and other illnesses that attack young children. You don't want your child to miss school, but neither do you want to send a sick child to school and endanger him or her and other children as well. When should your child stay home from school? Here are a few guidelines you might wish to follow:

  1. Fever (temp 100.0 or higher): Your child must be fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever suppressing medications in order to return to school.
  2. A bad cough: Especially if accompanied by fever or other cold symptoms can indicate a severe cold, bronchitis, FLU, or even pneumonia.
  3. Diarrhea & Vomiting: If your child has these repeated symptoms, along with rash, fever or general weakness, please Keep them home from school and consult a doctor.

With Flu season fast approaching, I would like to remind you: The best way to prevent the flu is to get a flu vaccine for you and your child.
